Save TimeWe never seem to have enough time. Whether it is working, spending time with family, exercising or keeping up with household activities, the precious minutes of each day seem to fly by. To help gain back valuable time each day, Gary Cohen, President and CEO of Timex, has developed a list of his Top 10 Ways to Save Time at Home. Saving time at home will allow us to do what we need to do and what we want to do.

1.      Divide & Conquer – Time is precious for all of us, so make the most of your time by developing a list for you, your significant or roommate of weekly things that need to get done around the home.  By using tech gadgets such as smartphones and tablet calendars, you can have reminders sent to you on daily basis to keep your organized so you won’t have household chores and responsibilities back-up.

2.      Smart Eats – Shop smart and save time by making a weekly meal planning chart of meals and prep as much food in advance as possible so they are ready to eat or cook.  This will not only save time on meals each week, but can also help the entire household eat healthier meals by reducing those last minute runs to the take-out restaurant.

Christmas SaleNew shopping holidays seem to pop up every year as retailers clamor for consumer dollars. To help you distinguish between the real deals and the duds, FreeShipping.org has rounded up the best shopping holidays between now and the end of the year.

Nov. 23 - Black Friday

It's never too early to get your camping gear together. Black Friday truly embodies the chaos of holiday shopping, with people sleeping curbside in the cold and stampeding sleepy employees to save a buck. This year major merchants have made changes to bring things back under control. Both Sears and Walmart will open at 8 p.m. Thanksgiving night, and Target has instituted a policy to control the number of shoppers allowed through the doors at once.

Black Friday 2012Black Friday 2012 is closer than ever, with many big-name stores opening their doors on Thanksgiving Day. Whether you're braving the crowds for the first time or consider yourself a Black Friday shopping veteran, consider these 10 last-minute tasks to prep you for the biggest shopping day(s) of the year.

1. Research circulars and map out a route. Check your inbox, mailbox and the Internet for updates on store circulars and Black Friday deals. Map out your route based on the deals you want, and remember your local mall is a great resource for discounts within walking distance of one another.

2. Make a list and stick to it. You'll be tempted to deviate from your holiday gift list during the Black Friday madness, and that's exactly what retailers are hoping for. Last year, Black Friday sales reached $52.4 billion, up 16 percent over the year before. The best way to stick to your budget is to stick to your list and avoid any unnecessary impulse buys.

Black FridayRecent news headlines suggest Black Friday is quickly morphing into Gray Thursday as big retailers one-up each other's hours. Walmart is the most recent example, announcing it will open its doors at 8:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving, shortly after Sears made the same proclamation.

Black Friday has reached an almost celebrity-like status over the years, with enough buzz, chaos and excitement to rival the latest Hollywood scandal. It's only appropriate, then, to take a "what's in, what's out" approach to the trendiest shopping strategies for the most notorious shopping day of the year.

Gluten Free ThanksgivingThanksgiving is one particular holiday where there is always plenty of food on the table.  However, hosts may find themselves stumped when preparing a “gluten-free” Thanksgiving dinner.  What should be avoided?  How can families create a meal that everyone will be able to enjoy?  Dr. Kristen Bobik, founder of Balance Chiropractic and Wellness Practitioners, has the following tips and recipes on identifying small changes that can be made to ensure Thanksgiving staples remain delicious and most importantly, safe.

THE TURKEY- Turkeys don't have any bread or pasta in them but not all turkeys are created equal. Some turkeys are injected with flavorings/preservatives containing gluten so make sure to read the label or contact the company in advance.

Butternut Squash -  Ingredients: 1 butternut squash, 1 tbsp. coconut oil, 2 tbsp. cinnamon, 1/2 tsp. raw honey. Cut squash in half lengthwise and remove seeds. Place one half face down in a small glass baking dish with 1 inch of water. Microwave on high for about 6 minutes, to slightly soften the squash. Remove and cool. Remove outer skin of squash, and cut into 1 inch cubes. Add coconut oil to a pan, heat on medium. Add squash, cinnamon, honey. Cook until mostly soft and serve.
