Turkey Dinner That big turkey dinner won't just put you to sleep this year; it'll also cost you an arm and a wing.  According to a recent survey by the American Farm Bureau Federation, the price of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner will rise 13 percent this year.  That means an average meal for 10 could set you back $49.20, up $5.73 from 2010.

Tom Turkey is the main culprit behind the biggest increase in 26 years.  A 16-pound bird will run $21.57, up more than 22 percent from last year.

Holiday Overspending It's time to pull back the spending reigns and prepare for holiday gift expenses. During a time when most shoppers are reducing their spending altogether, it's especially important to make a realistic budget for your gift list.

While the following tips are intended to help you manage holiday spending, many are applicable to saving money all year 'round.

1. Make a budget!
The National Retail Federation's (NRF) 2011 Holiday Consumer Intentions and Actions Survey reported that holiday shoppers plan to spend an average of $704.18 on gifts this season, representing a slight decrease over last year. Making a budget is a no-brainer, but challenge yourself to go under budget this year. Track your spending using the Toshl app to keep tabs on what you're shelling out and how much you have left.

VTech About 10 years ago, I was single and my finances were tight.  In an effort to stretch my dollars a little further, I scrutinized every single monthly expense I had and found one easy way to save a lot of money...ditch my landline phone!  I've never looked back and have since relied on my cell phone for 100% of my communication needs.

There are a few downsides though to being in a household with no landline and I've always secretly wished that I could have clearer calls in my home, better reception and more handsets so that I don't have to dash around my house in search of one phone whenever it rings.  VTech seems to have answered my prayers with the Three Handset Connect to CELL Answering System.  I recently had a chance to integrate this system with my current cell phone.  Keep reading to learn more!

I reviewed the Three Handset Connect to CELL Answering System (DS6421-3) from VTech, which retails for $99.95, but is currently on sale for $78.86 with FREE SHIPPING.
