Now that summer is here in full force, my family seems to live outdoors. We spend countless hours each week down at our local pool and neighborhood park and with the scorching Texas heat, sun protection is a must!
Of course, having a little girl also means that I try and dress Riley in the cutest clothing possible and I really enjoy swimsuit shopping for her. This year, I was thrilled to have the chance to try out one of the many adorable swimsuits from Lands' End. They're one of my favorite retailers for children's clothing and have anything and everything you'll need this summer for safe and fashionable fun. Keep reading to learn more!

What's more precious on little girls than ruffles? The Lands' End Girls' Ruffle Front Adjustable One-Piece Swimsuit is perfect for "frill seekers" with waves of ruffles at the front and adjustable crisscross straps at the back. It's made with some of the best features for under the sun, like quick-to-dry fabric, a modest lined front and an earned UPF rating of 50 (the highest possible), which means those harmful UV rays are blocked.
I chose the light turquoise wildflowers pattern for my daughter and absolutely loved the bright colors, yet feminine styling of this bathing suit. It was easy to put on and take off and I'm especially glad to know that with a UPF rating of 50, Riley's fair skin will be well protected underneath her suit. The only thing I didn't like was this suit's small sizing.
Riley typically wears a 3T and so I ordered her a girls' size 4 (not 4T) because I thought it would be big enough for her to wear next year as well. Unfortunately, she barely fit in this size 4. I had to let out the straps as far as they would go and this swimsuit still fit her like a glove. If you are ordering this particular style from Lands' End, I would definitely make sure to go up a size or two from what your child typically wears.
In the summertime, Riley basically lives in rash guards. It's so much easier to slap on a rash guard instead of slathering her arms down with both sunscreen and bug repellent. Where I live, mosquitoes are always on the rampage, so the less exposed skin the better. I was so glad to find that not only did Lands' End carry some super cute rash guards for kids, they even made matching ones to compliment their swimwear! Now that's a practical and stylish idea!
What's more, the Lands' End rash guards also have a UPF rating of 50 (the highest possible) for superior sun protection and a fully lined front so that nothing can peek through. They're designed to fit close to the body so that they won’t "balloon up" underwater, making them the perfect summertime accessory for your little bathing beauty!
As you can see from the picture above, the Lands' End Long Sleeve Flower Mockneck Rash Guard is a little too big on Riley at the moment. That's to be expected since this particular garment came in a girls' 5/6. I wanted to make sure you knew that it was not a size 4 like her bathing suit in case you thought that there was a big variance in sizes between the two. I'm happy for the larger size though, because now I know my daughter will get season after season of stylish sun protection from this rash guard.
The Lands' End swimwear collection contains fashionable items for the entire family, including beach bags, towels, water shoes, rash guards and swimwear. With the fabulous sale of up to 65% off that's currently underway, you can outfit your entire family for less. Make sure to head on over now!
