The Summer Infant SecureSurround Playsafe Playard is an artificial boundary that will help keep kids secure and parents stress-free during playtime.  It's a lightweight, portable barrier composed of six plastic panels that can accommodate a variety of configurations.

It comes complete with a convenient walk-through door as well as carrying handles for easy movement. The plastic panels can also be used one at a time to partition off areas or objects around the home.

The SecureSurround Playsafe Playard is a great way to ensure the safety of kids while still allowing them to have fun at the same time, both indoors and out.  When Riley was younger, we couldn't have been more dependent upon the Summer Infant SecureSurround Playsafe Playard.

Most of the time, it was configured into a long snaking wall which kept her curious hands from touching our expensive electronics and other breakables.

Riley had free reign over the living room because we were able to successfully block off any hazard with the SecureSurround Playsafe Playard.  During Christmas, we maneuvered this portable gate around the base of the tree so that her tiny fingers couldn't snag any electrical lights or glass ornaments.  Thanks to the SecureSurround Playsafe Playard, we were able to keep a Christmas tree up in the living room for all to enjoy (and for Riley to be mesmerized by :wow:) without worrying about the dangers.

It's also a much-needed travel accessory for taking to a friend or relative's home, a hotel room or outside at the park or beach.  I loved knowing that with the gate closed, Riley was locked safely inside.  This way, I wasn't scurrying about the new room we were in trying to baby proof everything in sight.  As long as the 18.5 square foot area inside the SecureSurround Playsafe Playard was safe, then I knew Riley would be just fine.

This playard is recommended for children ages 6 months to 2 years old, but you'll probably find many uses for it even after your child has outgrown it.  For instance, we used it to block off rooms of our home that Riley really didn't need to be in, such as the formal dining room.  There was nothing for her to play with in there and we wanted to keep her partitioned away from this room due to the family heirlooms and antique furniture contained within.

It's also great as a makeshift kennel for your pets.  When we have workers over at the house, Noel always barks constantly and "attacks" the new people.  This can get quite annoying for everyone involved, but if we place her inside the SecureSurround Playsafe Playard, she can still monitor everything that's happening without bothering anyone or getting underfoot.  We also put Noel in this playard when we have parties or outdoor get-togethers.  This way, she can't inadvertently escape and start roaming about the neighborhood.

I think that 18.5 square feet is a nice and luxurious change from a typical portable playard.  There's plenty of room for your child to sprawl about and at times, Riley even preferred playing inside the SecureSurround Playsafe Playard versus moving about unhindered.  If you'd like to provide even more room, this playard can be expanded to a whopping 34.4 square feet with the addition of the 2-Sided Panel Extension Kit.
