Now that Riley is officially three years old, there are two hobbies that have really taken center stage: drawing and building with her LEGOs. She likes to build these huge monster creations, but it's fairly difficult to do if you don't have enough building surface to work on. I contemplated buying a few large base plates for her...until I saw the price tag. OUCH! :wow:
That's when I decided that the best solution was to find her a great multipurpose table...one that can satisfy both her hobbies, drawing and building. Wouldn't you know, Step2 just happened to have the perfect solution! Keep reading to learn more about the Build and Store Block Activity Table!
The Step2 Build and Store Block Activity Table is a multipurpose fun center designed for children ages 3 years old and up. This multifunctional table is the perfect play space for building, drawing, or any creative adventure! With lots of storage and removable block plates, it's also a perfect activity table! Of course, because it's made by Step2, you can rest assured that this item is made in the United States. :flag: Just look at the many features of the Build and Store Block Activity Table:
- Features four cups (2 red and 2 yellow) and two removable blue trays to organize small pieces
- Molded-in storage areas help keep projects organized
- Holds two gray removable 10.5" x 15" (26.7 x 38 cm) building block base plates
- Four clear bins included for extra storage
- Includes 11" (28 cm) stool
- Creative accessories and building blocks not included
- Minimal adult assembly required
One of the best features of the Step2 Build and Store Block Activity Table is that the gray building plates which come with this play set are removable and WORK with BOTH LEGO and MEGA Bloks! Riley has a ton of both kinds of building blocks, so for me, knowing that her table would work with either type of block was a major benefit. I also appreciated how both building plates could easily be removed and stored securely underneath the table itself. This way, these plates are safely out of the way and won't accidentally get stepped on and broken.
With the Step2 Build and Store Block Activity Table, kids can enjoy a dedicated workspace to craft their projects. The lightweight plastic table is durable, and its smooth, contoured edges protect against scrapes. What's more, assembly is very easy and only required me screwing in eight screws! I was done in about 20 minutes time, from start to finish.
The included red-and-white stool measures 11 inches in height and provides a seat that is just the right height for your child to work comfortably at the table. This table is also the right height for a young child to stand and work comfortably too. That way, two children can easily work on the same project together or two separate ventures with plenty of room for all of their supplies as well as their creation itself.
The only criticism I have of the Step2 Build and Store Block Activity Table is that it is fairly dangerous to use on slick floors like marble, hardwood or tile. The bottom of the stool's legs are smooth plastic and twice when my daughter tried to sit on the stool, it scooted out from under her.
We are planning on purchasing some self-adhesive rubber strips to mount to the bottom of both the table and the stool so that we can prevent the smooth plastic of this play set from sliding around on our smooth floor. If you are using this activity table on carpeting though, you shouldn't have a problem.
If you have little ones who love to create with blocks or on paper, then the Step2 Build and Store Block Activity Table is a must. Its large work surface has four cup holders that can store pencils, markers, crayons, and paint brushes, along with two removable trays on the table top to hold other supplies and small crafting tools.
Parents will also appreciate the four clear tubs which house even larger items neatly inside. This table is also lightweight enough so that you can move it into any room necessary and then back again, quickly and easily. Put a Step2 Build and Store Block Activity Table under the tree this holiday and make your child a very happy little elf!
