Ever used to watch the TV show, MacGyver?  I was always fascinated at how Richard Dean Anderson could worm his way out of the most unusual predicaments using very common items.  He always seemed to be "Johnny on the spot" when it came to having what he needed at hand.  Now, being the former Girl Scout and Brownie that I am, I always try to live up to their motto of "Be Prepared".

Victorinox, the makers of the Swiss Army products, have also built a company out of helping you do just that, be prepared, and they've done it better than anyone else I can think of.  Carrying a Swiss Army knife, while practical, is not always the most feminine of notions.  I mean, how many women do you see whipping out a large 12 gadget knife from their purse?  But now, I've discovered that a company called Executive Gift Shoppe is offering a Swiss Army knife, of sorts, for the ladies...the Swisscard!

The Swisscard is a very thin, credit card-shaped device that houses 10 common gadgets sure to come in handy when the time comes.  I think this is such a unique and useful way to bring the Swiss Army knife into the next generation.  This card can easily slip into your wallet, billfold or backpocket, so it is extremely convenient to carry.  The Swisscard comes with the following cleverly-housed items:

I feel a little more like MacGyver now that I'm carrying my Swisscard.  The next time my husband has something caught in his teeth, I can fly in and rescue him with my portable toothpick.  When my daughter gets a splinter in her finger while out at the park, I can amaze and bedazzle her with my portable tweezers and quickly take away her pain.

I can even save myself some aggravation the next time I have a loose thread on the hem of my shirt.  Instead of pulling it off and causing it to unravel even further, I can simply use the scissors included with the Swisscard.  I think this might finally qualify me for a full-fledged Super Mom!  :)
