After reading several moms' blogs and benefiting from their experience with this subject, I decided to try and potty train her right away on the big potty. Of course, I needed to find a potty training seat which would work well on our big potty and that's when I discovered the Baby Bjorn Toilet Trainer. Here's my experience with this item.
When I first took the Baby Bjorn Toilet Trainer out of its box, I was puzzled. There weren't any other parts included with this toilet seat. How was this thing going to work? I looked at the directions and saw just how easy it would be to install this seat onto our regular toilet.
All that you had to do was turn the large wheel on the underside of the Toilet Trainer to the right, and the two arms attached to the wheel would start to move outwards. When the wheel would no longer turn easily, you were done! The two arms had then adjusted themselves for a custom fit to your toilet seat.
The great thing is that this potty seat can be easily removed for when grownups also need to use the toilet. Simply pull on the handle at the top of the Toilet Trainer and it readily pops out and can be hung on either a hook or maybe the bathroom's door knob for convenient storage.
The Baby Bjorn Toilet Trainer is also geared for safety and hygiene. The red outline that you see in my pictures above is actually a rubber trim which helps the Toilet Trainer to stay put on the toilet seat and not slide around. It also has a built in splash guard which ensures that what is supposed to go in the potty doesn't go anywhere else BUT the potty! It seems to me that this feature is essential for parents of little boys and who knows? If there's a way for a little girl to figure out how to get her pee OUT of the potty while sitting down, I have no doubt Riley will try it! :)
So, if you're a parent who is potty training your child directly on the potty or are thinking of moving your little one up from her small potty to the big one, then I would suggest giving the Baby Bjorn Toilet Trainer from Baby Swede a try. It looks great, is super simple to install, can be easily removed and doesn't slide around on your toilet seat either.
Disclosure: I received the Baby Bjorn Toilet Trainer from Baby Swede in order to facilitate my review. No other compensation was received. This product review is based on my own personal experiences with this item and is completely honest and objective. |

The trainer seats are inexpensive and a great way to get your little one used to the big toilet. While it may be easier for toddlers to use the potty chairs, if you get a step stool with your trainer seat, they should be fine.
Yes I have to agree that trainer seats are the most inexpensive and cleanest way to toilet train a child. The only things is the toilet is too high and I want them to be able to run to the bathroom if needed.
