Has technology advanced to the point where we can quickly and easily track and monitor our body's daily activities, set goals and record our progress? If I ever have a question about the latest and greatest innovations in technology on the market today, I always know that RadioShack will have the answer.
They allowed me to review the truly unique Fitbit Ultra Wireless Activity + Sleep Tracker in order to get a better overall picture of my own health. Keep reading to learn more about the tiny little tracker that somehow manages to do it all!
I always want to be fit, lean and healthy, but I have to admit that this urge definitely gets stronger once summer arrives! Swimsuits, shorts and tank tops definitely don't provide the coverage of bulky sweaters and pants, so there's no excuses and nowhere to hide that prominent waistline. As you may remember, I've finally drawn the line in the sand against the extra pounds I've put on and am halfway to achieving my goal.
Because I still have 7 pounds to lose and well aware that the last pounds are usually the toughest to shed, I'm thankful that the Fitbit Ultra from RadioShack will be right by my side to help keep me on track. The Fitbit Ultra makes every step you take a step toward better fitness, even on your busiest days.
It's super sensitive 3-D motion sensor tracks your day down to details a pedometer can't catch, showing your exact steps taken, calories burned, distance traveled and overall intensity of your activity level. Fitbit Ultra also contains an altimeter to track stairs or hills climbed. The compact design of the Fitbit tracker makes it easy to wear tucked into your pocket or clipped to a belt or bra all day long.
You can even wear the Fitbit Ultra at night with the included cloth wristband to monitor how long and how well you sleep. Fitbit Ultra will monitor when you fall asleep and how many times you woke up throughout the night to provide a sleep efficiency index. Refer to this index to learn more about your sleep patterns and possible ways you can improve your night's rest.
How would you like to increase your overall activity level by 43% and lose 13 pounds? A recent study found that Fitbit wearers achieve these results on average, probably due to a tried and true method of obtaining your goals...journaling and holding yourself accountable.
I've always found that it's harder for me to break my diet or miss a workout when I would make myself write that poor fact down. Simply holding yourself utterly accountable for every single bite and sip you take each and every day can work wonders in shaping new habits, and the Fitbit Ultra is designed to make this record-keeping as quick, easy and accurate as possible.
Getting started couldn't be simpler either. Simply attach the Fitbit Ultra to the charging station and plug it into the USB port of your computer. It will begin to charge and in 1-2 hours will be fully charged. This charge will now last you a minimum of 3 days to record and analyze every single thing you're doing. Clip it onto your torso for the most accurate results and then let the Fitbit Ultra go to work. Every time you pass within 15 feet of the charging station, your unit will automatically sync and upload the results back to your account at fitbit.com.
At Fitbit.com, you'll enjoy free online tools that show how your activity measures up over time and keep you motivated, with no monthly fee required. Your dashboard quickly shows you how close you are to achieving your weekly goals on calories burned, steps taken, and other fitness initiatives.
Fitbit then makes fitness fun by translating your actual accomplishments into real life examples. For instance, tracking that you've climbed 22 floors is the same as climbing to the top of the Statue of Liberty. To help keep you motivated, you can earn badges for daily and lifetime fitness activities too. Pack even more details into your data by logging individual foods and workouts from your smart phone or computer (iPhone or Android only).
Find specific foods in their database of over 100,000 food items, and enter workout specifics from yoga, Pilates, elliptical workouts, boot camp, spinning, kickboxing, and even Wii games. You can then track your weight and other health indicators like blood pressure, glucose, and heart rate (not monitored by the Fitness Ultra directly, but by third-party devices, not included).
I couldn't be more thrilled with the accuracy and ease 0f use of the Fitbit Ultra Wireless Activity + Sleep Tracker from RadioShack. It's allowed me to truly hold myself accountable in more areas than just diet and exercise. Thanks to Fitbit, I am able to monitor my sleep which is also a big factor in overall health and even weight gain.
I find that because I'm wearing it, I climb stairs more often, run to places around my home instead of walk and even march in place while waiting for dinner to cook, my daughter to use the restroom, etc. Knowing that every extra action I take is being recorded by the Fitbit Ultra and is also improving my health makes each day like a game and these additional movements magically become much more fun.
If you'd like a fun, easy and accurate way to change your health habits for good, then by all means strap on a Fitbit Ultra from RadioShack and let's get tracking!

Great review! I have been wearing a Fitbit every day for the last 6 months and it really helps me stay aware of how active (or inactive) I am.
Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting today, Kristen! It's good to hear from someone who's been using it a whole six months. I'm glad to hear that you still find it helpful after all that time. I know what you mean, when I know the Fitbit is "watching", it definitely gives me new motivation to get up and get moving. :)
