Playmobil Robbers Amphibious Vehicle Play Set with Rollover Cage and Money Bag

I first became a fan of Playmobil toys a few years ago when I bought the Playmobil Zoo play set for Riley.  She absolutely LOVED playing Zoo with that set and I loved how safe and kid-friendly all of the pieces were.

The cornerstone of all Playmobil play sets is the two and three quarter inch figures which can bend, sit, stand, turn their heads and move their arms.  The hands, which can grasp, rotate and carry accessories, are what make realistic play possible.  The figures also have a smiley face that suits just about any play situation.  All Playmobil men, women, children and animals are compatible will all other Playmobil vehicles, accessories and environments.

The bright colors and rounded edges are also loved by both parents and children alike.  What's more, Playmobil play sets feature unique construction locking-grid building pieces that allow children to quickly and easily change their play worlds by creating new buildings.

I recently had the chance to review the Robber's Amphibious Vehicle Play Set from Growing Tree Toys.  Keep reading to learn more!

I reviewed the Playmobil Robber's Amphibious Vehicle Play Set from Growing Tree Toys, which retails for $21.95.

The Playmobil Robber's Amphibious Vehicle Play Set is making an escape from Bank Central with piles of play money! Kids will have a blast with this land-to-sea Playmobil Amphibious Vehicle Play Set as they outmaneuver the cops and make it home in time for dinner.  The Playmobil Amphibious Vehicle Play Set includes the water and land vehicle that actually floats, a robber figure, crowbar, shotgun, 2 cases stolen from "Bank Central" and Euro-style play money so kids can make a suave getaway by land or sea every time!  Compatible with the Playmobil Underwater Motor (7350), sold separately.

Features:

  • Includes the water and land vehicle that actually floats, robber figure, crowbar, shotgun, 2 cases stolen from “bank central” and play money
  • Compatible with the Playmobil Underwater Motor (7350), sold separately

The Playmobil Robber's Amphibious Vehicle Play Set is designed for children ages 4 and up and does require complete assembly by an adult.  I was a little surprised when I opened the box and saw several bags full of small pieces come tumbling out, for I didn't expect the assembly aspect of this play set.  I couldn't find anywhere on the box which listed adult assembly required, so just prepare yourself for the fact that you will need to assemble it.

I really liked that this Playmobil vehicle is able to be outfitted with an underwater motor (sold separately), if you wish and that the vehicle floats in water.  My daughter loves playing with this toy in the tub and gives many of her other tub friends a ride in the Playmobil Amphibious Vehicle.

Unfortunately, I didn't care for the overall theme of this toy.  I knew that this toy was going to have a robber and play money included along with a floating car, but what I didn't expect was for this toy to also include a shot gun and a crowbar.  In my opinion, four years old is a little young to be role playing that you've shot a cop while getting away with a sack full of money from a bank.  Perhaps I'm just not used to this kind of imaginative play, since I only have a daughter, but even my husband said that he was surprised the shot gun was included too.

Of course, if you feel like I do about the shotgun, then you can always leave it out and not give that particular piece to your child to play with, which is what I did.  So if your child loves Playmobil toys too and would like a floating amphibious vehicle complete with robber and play money, then this play set will more than likely be a hit.  Just remember to assemble it first so that they can play with it right away on Christmas day!
