This year, Spring has arrived with a BANG here in Houston. Both April and May have brought a lot of rain our way and that bang I mentioned is more like the clap of thunder. Even though the temperatures are mild and pleasant at the moment, the rain is keeping my active 4-year-old indoors. :pull hair out:
I do my best to keep Riley entertained and happy, but being a work-at-home mom with a cooped up and energetic 4-year-old can be challenging sometimes. If you're in the same boat and are looking for fun ways to entertain your children during those rainy days, be sure to check out the latest family-friendly offerings from Phase 4 Films.
The Berenstain Bears: Golden Brother Edition, which retails for $19.99
The Berenstain Bears: Golden Sister Edition, which retails for $19.99
My family has long been fans of The Berenstain Bears because they always manage to intertwine good moral lessons with fun, laughter and entertainment. I grew up watching this family favorite on TV as well as reading their many books, and so as soon as Riley was old enough to start watching TV too, The Berenstain Bears was one of the first programs she enjoyed.
Naturally, I was thrilled to learn that this year marks the 50th anniversary of this timeless family classic and Phase 4 Films was rolling out the red carpet to celebrate. They've created three new collections any Berenstain Bears fan, young or old, will love. First, The Berenstain Bears DVD Collection is a boxed set containing 3 discs with a whopping total of 15 episodes. Some of my family's all-time faves are here, including "The Birthday Boy", "Slumber Party" and "The In Crowd". Each episode is about 15 minutes long, which is the perfect length to watch right before bed, while having a snack or while traveling.
Of course, this DVD collection didn't quite capture my daughter's attention as much as the two Limited Edition Golden Gift Sets did which also arrived at our home. As soon as Riley saw the unique 10" Brother and Sister plush animals included with these two Golden Gift Sets, she screamed and started jumping up and down!
Each of the Limited Edition Golden Gift Sets comes with one DVD about either Sister or Brother Bear as well as a matching 10" plush toy. The DVD offers over 2 hours of episodes all about that particular character and the lovable plush is the perfect viewing companion. From the very first day we received these sets to review, my daughter has been watching and enjoying more Berenstain Bears and even re-enacting all of the fun with her two new Brother and Sister Bear plush toys.
If you're looking for a fun-filled way to while away a few hours indoors, be sure to snuggle up with your family and enjoy all the new selections this May from Phase 4 Films!
