The Healthy Schools ProjectAbout 25% of Americans go to school or college every day.  Unfortunately, their germs go right along with them.  Colds and flu are a major problem for educational facilities, with the common cold resulting in 189 million school days lost each year - and influenza causing nearly 38 million absences a year.

Absenteeism starts with presenteeism - coming to school sick.  When ill students touch a doorknob, keyboard, desk or other surface, they leave germs that can live up to 48 hours.  Other students and teachers pick up those germs and the cycle continues.

Schools have their own unique "hot spots" that typically harbor the most germs.  The Healthy Schools Project educates and encourages students to Wash, Wipe and Sanitize to help reduce the risk of transmission - especially in germ hot spots.

Ruth's Chris Steak House2013 has definitely started off with a bang for me!  My daughter has started preschool and is learning new, interesting things each day.  She's also experiencing the daily drama that comes with interacting with her fellow friends and teachers.  As for me, I'm happy to say that my invention, Toothpaste 2 Go, is raring to go and is starting to hit the retail scene!  This has kept me busy beyond belief and now I'm definitely in need of a break from all the fast-paced action.

Napa ValleyThat's why I'm thrilled to have the chance to let my hair down and go out with my husband for an unforgettable night at Ruth's Chris Steak House!  Ruth's Chris is the place that showed the world how great a steak can be.  Their steaks are carefully selected and aged for tenderness, then cut thick to ensure juiciness.  Seared to perfection at 1800 degrees and seasoned simply with salt, black pepper and a touch of parsley, because a steak like this needs nothing else.

On Thursday, March 14th, Ruth's Chris Steak House will be serving up 5 of the best wines from the famous Napa Valley to bring you a phenomenal night of top rated wines and great food.  Napa Valley is home to some of the world's finest vineyards and wineries and is a favorite amongst many wine enthusiasts.  Uncork the night with five delicious courses paired with five of Napa's best wines.  Here's the scrumptious dinner menu that's waiting for you:

VicksBeing a mom is amazing in so many ways...that is, until you get sick.  Once I became a mom, I quickly realized that "taking a sick day" was a thing of the past.  We women are such an integral part of our family's day-to-day routine that the gears literally grind to a screeching halt if we happen to be out of commission.

That's why when the sniffles or the full-blown flu take hold, I lean on the remedy I truly trust to keep me going and relieve all my symptoms: Vicks DayQuil and NyQuil.
