Imperial Sugar's Chocolate Chip Cookies:
(An exclusive recipe - tested and approved by the Imperial Sugar kitchen)
Baking Time: 9-11 minutes (depending on oven)
Ingredients:
- 1 stick of butter, softened
- 1/2 cup of Imperial or Dixie Crystals Extra Fine Granulated Sugar
- 2 Imperial or Dixie Crystals Redi-Measure Light Brown Sugar Pouches (1/2 cup)
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 10 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate chips (approximately 1 3/4 cups)
- 1/2 cup walnuts or pecans (optional)
- 1 1/2 teaspoons of Vanilla extract
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. In a mixing bowl, combine butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar contents of the Redi-Measure pouches, and egg on low speed for 1 to 2 minutes or until mixture is creamed.
- Add the flour, baking soda and salt to mixing bowl and mix on low until blended. Scrape edges of bowl and mix on low speed for an additional 1 minute or until completely mixed.
- Blend in the remaining ingredients on low or mix by hand as to not crush chips and nuts.
- Use a teaspoon to portion out cookies onto an ungreased baking sheet. Bake cookies for 9 to 11 minutes. Edges of cookies should be brown and tops light brown when cookies are done.
Yield: Approximately 24 cookies
