We all readily await the farewell of a dull, gray winter and the arrival of spring. Claudiae's Spring/Summer 2011 Collection has a sense of excitement with bright colors, flirty, romantic, 70’s inspired fashion trends, with an underlying theme of funkily reinventing classic looks. Claudia Estrada, an Ecuadorian-born designer based in Miami, adds a twist of airy fabrics, bright colors, and soft patterns in her Spring 2011 Collection. This season, ClaudiaE presents her collection with a diverse selection of dresses, jumpsuits, and skirts.
I love the design of the classic 70's jumpsuit, for it has the unique characteristic of being extremely comfortable to wear while still looking sophisticated and put-together. I couldn't wait to try on the Nina Silk/Satin Garden Jumpsuit from Claudiae for the silk/satin material used to create this piece felt heavenly and I really admired the bright and funky garden print too.
As soon as I slipped the Nina jumpsuit on, I was happy for it felt absolutely wonderful to wear...just like a pair of silk pajamas. Unfortunately though, the midsection of the jumper seemed a little large and gave me the Humpty-Dumpty feeling, as though I looked like an egg with legs.
I realize that jumpsuits of this design are supposed to be cinched at the waist, typically with a wide belt or a funky scarf. Eventually I hope to find a bright pink or turquoise scarf to wear with the Nina Garden Jumpsuit, but for now all I have is a wide tan belt. As you can see from the pictures below, cinching the jumpsuit at the waist definitely made this piece look much better and even made me look like I had a larger bustline! YES!
I still have to admit that I think this jumpsuit had too much fabric around the midsection, which is why it looked rather bulky, even when coupled with the belt. If I had one suggestion to make, it would be to slightly taper the jumpsuit so as to alleviate the bulkiness in the waist and bust.
Claudiae has a host of smart, hip and classic pieces, all with a vibrant, youthful feel. If you are looking for some wonderful new garments to wear, which are guaranteed to make you forget your winter woes, then check out the fashions from Claudiae!
