When children are young, they love to imitate their parents and other grown-ups. Mimicking adults like this is key and helps little ones learn how to do more grown up tasks, such as eat, cook, dress themselves and the like. Riley absolutely LOVES to play "kitchen" and pretend grocery store.
What better way to reinforce her healthy eating habits than with a whole slew of realistic healthy foods for her to play with? Learning Resources had just the ticket with their Healthy Foods Play Set. Keep reading to learn more!

Riley was absolutely enamored with the Pretend & Play Healthy Foods Play Set from Learning Resources! She is so cute to watch going around with her little shopping basket, pretending to buy food from the grocery store. She then makes sure to take her choices back to her "kitchen", cook them up and then we both have a picnic where we enjoy the life-size foods she's prepared.
I love this toy too, for it has made her more receptive to eating certain vegetables she wouldn't touch before, like peas. I also have started teaching her what a food group is and explaining the included food pyramid to her. Since she can see that cookies, cakes and candy aren't on the food pyramid, she's learning that these are definitely "sometimes foods" and not anything that needs to be eaten on a daily basis.
The Healthy Foods Play Set is the perfect combination of education and fun and I know it will help my daughter develop healthy eating habits which she'll use for the rest of her life. If you're looking for the perfect holiday gift for a toddler or preschooler, then I highly recommend the Healthy Foods Play Set from Learning Resources!
