When the trials and tribulations of motherhood and the daily grind get me down, there are a few go-to spots I know I can turn to for an instant pick-me-up. June Cleaver Nirvana is one of those places! Keep reading to learn more about the blog which you can always depend on to immediately make you laugh!
Holly, the author of June Cleaver Nirvana, is a Texas gal like myself and the mother of three boys. She has such a gift for taking a fairly normal situation and turning it into a wild and hilarious adventure with so many twists and turns, you're not sure where you will end up!
Holly is also never scared to put it all out on the table for everyone to see either. Just look at the guts and courage she showed in posting her original passport photo in "Why I Never Travel Out of the Country". Her honesty and truthfulness is what keeps me coming back to read her blog almost daily.
Holly is able to capture and convey things that all mothers and women can identify with, like bad photos and touching moments with our own children. For instance, my heart instantly warmed after reading her post, "He Calls Me Mommy", which highlights one of the best parts of being a mother.
But, no matter how touching or poignant the subject matter, Holly always finds a way to bring a smile to your face through some great comedy too! Being a Texas girl, I can totally relate to the winter "plagues of Dallas" and how Holly is trying to warn Jerry Jones of the possibility of an upcoming apocalypse.
I also laughed out loud when reading all about how Holly's husband, blog-Stedman, converted one of their boys into "Washcloth People". Of course, one of Holly's true shining moments had to be when she vividly and humorously depicted the drama and trauma that came with the coming of the beavers! If you have a few minutes and are in the mood to laugh continuously, then this is a must-read!
June Cleaver Nirvana is a representation of everything that is wonderful about blogging. Holly has cultivated a perfect blend of comedy, truthfulness, poignant insight and family devotion in her posts. I highly recommend adding her blog to your roll and reading it as often as possible!
