Remember the good old days, when everyone dressed to the nines to do anything and everything, and being polite and courteous was the golden rule? Yeah, me neither. I am a little too young to have witnessed first-hand the era of Ward and June Cleaver, but I have to admit that those days seem quite alluring.
Watching those old shows makes me think that maybe we've become a little too casual and have lost a lot of the fun and grandeur which can be associated with everyday tasks, such as cooking and baking for our friends and family. Thankfully, Jessie Steele has created an entire line of retro-styled hostess and chef's aprons designed to take us back to those golden days of dinner parties and dressing up. Riley and I had the opportunity to review two of their classic apron styles. Keep reading to learn more!

Since I am officially Mrs. Cleaver, I couldn't wait to sample two of the Jessie Steele original aprons to get me more in touch with my domesticated side. They were nice enough to send the Bib Audrey Sweetheart Cupcakes Apron (seen above) for me as well as the Vintage Kitchen Bib Ava Aprons (seen below) for both Riley and me. All of the Jessie Steele aprons are designed to instill a feeling of nostalgia as well as allow you to feel feminine and flirty while doing your normal household chores.
Both the Bib Audrey and Bib Ava aprons are constructed of 100% cotton and tie in a bow around your neck and behind your back. They were also designed with adorably cute bow accents on the pockets and coordinated accent material on the pockets and around the apron itself. I really liked how they resembled the classic A-line dress and had me immediately feeling like a domesticated diva!
Of course, the print of the material itself is also wonderfully unique to each apron. The Bib Audrey Sweetheart Cupcakes Apron looked like something taken right from my grandma's kitchen and is one that I will be proud to wear at any family gathering or birthday party. It is so fantastically retro that I don't think I could stop myself from wearing my best strand of pearls with it too! The Vintage Kitchen pattern is my favorite though, for it is one of the designs which is also made for children too.
I love the bright red and mint green colors that dominate this pattern along with every kitchen electric and utensil that could be found in a classic 50's kitchen. Riley and I will definitely be making plenty of mother-daughter memories in the future while donning these Jessie Steele aprons.
If you are still unsure of what to get your mom or grandma this Mother's Day, then I highly recommend shopping the gorgeously designed aprons from Jessie Steele. Both young and old will appreciate the figure flattering styles, beautiful detailing and sense of nostalgia that comes with every one of their selections. Shop Jessie Steele and get back in touch with your domesticated side!
