Do you color treat your hair? I've been a "blond" my entire life and know the downsides firsthand of having color-treated highlights. My hair is more brittle and easier to break and after a while, it gets that awful brassy color. Fekkai hair care products are April's beauty feature from H-E-B and I had the chance to sample the Technician Color Care Starter Kit, guaranteed to leave your hair looking and feeling soft, shiny and healthy. Keep reading to learn more!
I have to admit that I was very excited to try the new Fekkai Technician Color Care Starter Kit from H-E-B, for this month's beauty product selection seemed custom made just for me. I'm always on the hunt to find quality products that are designed to counteract the damage I'm doing to my hair with the color-treated highlights I have and this collection sounded like the perfect solution.
Fekkai Technician Color Care products are infused with galanga root, cultivated in South East Asia. Known for its ability to naturally shield UV, it works to target damaged hair and seal the cuticle with a conditioning layer. The result? A unique, powerful complex that helps protect hair fibers and deliver salon-soft, vibrant hair color.
Now you can extend your salon-fresh highlights and protect against brassy tones. Fekkai Highlight Illuminating Cream with ShineLight Complex helps every highlight stay true and bright while locking in daily protection from brassiness and fading, preserving your color intensity between visits. All you need to shine on.
I had my hair colored about a week ago and I always try to do anything and everything possible to keep it looking and feeling fresh from the salon. The Fekkai Technician Color Care products couldn't have been easier to use, since they mainly consist of just a shampoo and a conditioner. Obviously, these are to be used as you would typically use a shampoo and conditioner, but I loved how these Fekkai products also included great tips especially for color-treated hair, such as:
- The first day after you color your hair, try not to wash it so that the color has time to saturate the hair strand. Not only will you extend the life of your color, you'll also extend the life of your blow-out.
- Color-treated hair tends to be drier so it needs to be conditioned after each shampoo. Never use a detangling rinse (instead of a conditioner) on color-treated hair as it tends to make the color fade faster.
Since my highlights are not exactly inexpensive, I appreciated these tidbits of wisdom which will help me stretch my hair care budget a little further! I loved the light fragrant scent of both the shampoo and conditioner as well as the thicker consistency which seemed to wrap my hair in moisture. I've used these products for a little more than a week and can already tell a big difference in the softness and texture of my hair. Now that I'm using the Fekkai Technician Color Care products, my hair even seems to style better than it used to.
My favorite product of the three included in the starter kit is definitely the 3-minute mask. This mask is only designed to be used 1-2 times per week, but delivers big results in a small amount of time. Using this product will not only help extend the vibrance of your color, it will also remove the dull and brassy look that comes to color-treated hair over time. I apply the mask as recommended and let it soak in while I shave my legs.
I love the results I've seen thus far by using the Fekkai Technician Color Care Starter Kit and know that these products will definitely help extend the life of my highlights before needing to head to the salon again. If you have color-treated hair too, then by all means, give these Fekkai hair care products from H-E-B a try!
