If you've read many of my posts here, you've probably realized that I'm an organizational junkie! Yes, I'm one of those annoying folks that truly has a place for everything and everything in its place. The annual spring cleaning ritual actually occurs in my house several times per year and I've literally cleaned out and organized every closet and drawer in my entire house already this year...except one.
Our upstairs hall closet is a total joke and the bane of my existence. No matter how hard I plotted and schemed, I just couldn't figure out how to get that messy closet under control. The problem, you see, is that I am a total purse fanatic (and shoes and clothes, but that's another post).
Unfortunately, our house isn't getting any bigger, though my purse collection is. To keep my precious handbags from being crumpled and ruined in large stacks in our closet, I had resorted to actually hanging them on pants hangers as well as across a homemade organizational concoction consisting of a tension rod in the middle of the closet. It wasn't pretty, to say the least. You couldn't walk in our closet at all, for fear of being pelted with a purse. This organizational junkie had finally met her match.
Thankfully, the storage gurus at Flow Wall came to my rescue and helped me design a system which would tame my unruly hall closet. I was so excited to work with them and couldn't be more thrilled with the solutions they offered. You won't believe my hall closet now! Keep reading to learn how a Flow Wall System can save your home or garage from becoming a jumbled mess too!

Lightweight, durable Flow Wall panels form the foundation of the Flow Wall organization system. Once installed, these modular panels turn any wall into an adaptable organization system that securely holds Flow Wall hooks, bins, cabinets, and other storage units. Since Flow Wall's storage accessories adjust both horizontally and vertically on the panels, they can be easily rearranged to fit your changing storage needs.
The modular design of the Flow Wall panels makes installation a cinch. Instead of a massive wall panel, Flow Wall offers smaller, individual panels that let you make easy arrangements for customized placement. Once your panels are installed, you can always add more to expand your storage possibilities.
Just look at how installing a Flow Wall system in your home or garage could organize the following areas to perfection:
The beauty of the Flow Wall system is that you can add storage accessories to your wall for a truly customized system. Since all accessories in the Flow Wall product line fit in Flow Wall panels, you can easily modify and expand your storage wall.
Flow Wall accessories feature a strong, powder-coated steel body that snaps into place, attaching to Flow Wall panels with a special clip. Flow Wall accessories stay put to securely hold your belongings, yet they are easy to move when you're ready to reconfigure your storage system--even cabinets and large bins slide easily.
Though some Flow Wall storage accessories are designed to hold specific items, most have multiple uses. For instance, the Flow Wall bike tire hook can adapt to double as a holster for your electric drill. Use Flow Wall storage tools creatively. The possibilities are nearly endless!
As you can see from the before and after photos above, Flow Wall completely revamped my upstairs hall closet into an amazing display of my handbag collection. Our hall closet is fairly large, but the space was being used very poorly and I had no real ideas on how to do things any better. The Flow Wall system definitely came to my rescue by using the large empty wall space we had to create an organizational mecca. I even have tons of room to spare in that closet now, which is something I never thought I'd say.
What's more, installing the Flow Wall system couldn't have been easier. The first step was to assemble the Flow Wall Decor Cube, which took about 10 minutes. Next, it was time to affix the Flow Wall panels to our closet wall. The great thing about these panels is that they are actually six separate pieces which can be installed in a variety of configurations to fit your exact space.
Since I was working in a closet, the panels served me best vertically. I measured about 18" from the ceiling and made sure that the uppermost panel was level. My husband used 12 screws per panel to make sure that they were securely fastened to our wall. The panels interlocked and so installation was a breeze and took literally around 30-40 minutes to complete.
I loved the lightweight plastic material used, instead of a heavier, more cumbersome wood. I also really liked the finished edges of the Flow Wall system which gave it a clean, professional look.
The pictures above don't really do the beauty of my hall closet justice, since it's so narrow that you can't see the whole wall at one glance very easily. Suffice it to say, that I have plenty of storage options available for my handbags and everything is so much easier to find now. I used one of the storage bins for our beach stuff (water bottles, towels and sunscreen) so that now I can quickly grab our bag and rush out the door to the pool.
The other jumbo storage bin is being used to house my selection of wallets. There are several times when I'd want one particular wallet and had such a hard time finding it. I'd have to look aimlessly through purse after purse until I finally found the wallet I was looking for inside. Now, finding the perfect wallet to go with the handbag I want to use couldn't be easier. The Flow Wall Decor Cube is great for storing more delicate items (like my Miche Bag shells) and the top of it even serves as a shelf.
But the real lifesaver came from installing the wire shelving on the uppermost Flow Wall panel. This created a huge area so that I could line up my large purses and overnight bags. I currently have 7 large bags up there with plenty of room to spare. The Flow Wall System allows me to see my entire handbag collection at a glance and instantly find what I need.
I can't express enough thanks to Flow Wall for helping me defeat the last bastion of clutter in my home. The Flow Wall system has saved our upstairs closet and because it's such a fluid storage system, it can always be rearranged and added to as our needs change. There's no doubt that I will consider Flow Wall first any time I have an organizational emergency, for I know they'll have the perfect solution to help. If you'd like to take your spring cleaning to the ultimate level, be sure to let Flow Wall come to your rescue too!
