Our household definitely goes through "AA" batteries, which is why I switched to using rechargeable batteries years ago. They may cost a little bit more up front, but the savings add up quickly, especially if some of your high usage devices only take batteries.
The problem with rechargeable batteries is trying to get the maximum potential from them, which can be difficult, since overcharging these batteries can significantly reduce their shelf life. Thankfully, Energizer has created the Recharge Smart Charger which will maximize the long-term health of your batteries. Keep reading to learn more!
It seems that I'm recharging batteries at least once per week, if not every few days. Four of Riley's favorite toys are quite the battery drainers and we also have several remote controls that frequently need recharging. This always leads me to question how inefficient my battery chargers are, for sometimes it just seems that the battery's charge isn't lasting like it used to. This is where Energizer has stepped in to really help maximize the performance of your rechargeable batteries with the Recharge Smart Charger.
The Recharge Smart Charger works with any 2 or 4 "AA" or "AAA" NIMH batteries and is smart enough to tell you when you are accidentally trying to charge a battery which isn't rechargeable or simply won't charge anymore. It also offers reverse polarity protection and will automatically shut off after charging for 8 hours, so as not to damage your batteries from overcharging them.
What's more, the Energizer Recharge Smart Charger has a large-view countdown timer, which will automatically let you know how many more hours your batteries will need to charge before they can be used again. It's also an Energy Star device, which maximizes your own electrical usage, saving you money.
After using the Recharge Smart Charger, I'm hooked! I first tried it with a few of my rechargeable batteries that we use often and the smart charger alerted me that one of them won't charge anymore! I don't know how I would have ever figured that out any other way. One of Riley's toys took four AA batteries and never did seem to work right and now I know which battery was causing the problem.
I also love knowing that this charger is maximizing the cycle life of my batteries' NIMH cells because it doesn't overcharge them. This is definitely one handy little device no home should be without!
