It is a subject which utilizes reading, writing, mathematics, deductive reasoning and creative thinking and teaches us the way our world works. I love getting out in the backyard with Riley and examining every leaf, rock, insect and spider we come across.
Currently, Riley loves using her magnifying glass to look at everything more closely, so I thought it might be time to take it to the next level. Thanks to Educational Insights, we can study our surroundings in a whole new way...with the GeoSafari Tuff Scope Microscope. Keep reading to learn more!
The GeoSafari Tuff Scope from Educational Insights is designed for children ages 5 to 9 years old and is the perfect first microscope for young children with a blossoming love of Science. It uses 3 "AA" batteries (not included) to power the transmissive and reflective LED lighting and can explore objects with a 50X to 400X magnification strength.
What's great about the GeoSafari Tuff Scope is that the microscope can easily be removed from its stand so that it can be used outdoors or while on the go. Because the light source is located on the base only, you will need an adequate light source when using the Tuff Scope on its own. This is a wonderful way to get children outside and in an investigative spirit. Absolutely ANYTHING can be inspected in great detail while using the GeoSafari Tuff Scope!
The overall design of the Tuff Scope has been well thought out, for children still get to experience viewing specimens on actual slides, just like the real thing. Educational Insights also thought to include a handy storage drawer within the base itself so that all items can be kept together nice and neat. What's really cool is that this 2X continuous zoom microscope can even be paired with the GeoSafari Tuff Cam for one lean, mean, Science machine. You can instantly capture both still pictures and video footage using both of these products combined together.
Personally, I want to get Riley the set of 12 prepared slides for her to use with the Tuff Scope. These slides contain all sorts of hard to find, yet fun to examine items, such as rainbow trout scales, rabbit hair, silk and peacock feathers. Now that's a fun and interesting way to open up a brand new world to a young child.
If you have an inquisitive child on your hands this summer, give them the gift of exploration and discovery with their very own GeoSafari Tuff Scope Microscope from Educational Insights. This well-designed, high quality microscope is the perfect way to introduce them to the microscopic world all around them in a way that will have them yearning to learn more! Who says summer break has to equal brain drain?
