Recently, Riley and I had the chance to review the Educational Insights Bean Bag Toss game. Keep reading to learn more!
The Bean Bag Toss game from Educational Insights is perfect for playgrounds, parties, carnivals, or physical education programs. This backboard features a cute castle on one side and colorful critters on the other. The holes are also different sizes so that some of the targets are more challenging than others.
This game successfully builds hand-eye coordination, math, and readiness skills. The Bean Bag Toss is just right for toddlers to preschool age children and includes 18" x 24" double-sided wooden game board, three bean bags, and activity guide.
Riley really seemed to enjoy playing the Bean Bag Toss and though she's not very good at it yet, she doesn't get too discouraged when she can't throw the bean bag in the hole. She's figured out that if she just moves up until she's basically right on top of it, she can make the target every time! This is also a terrific game to play both indoors or out, as long as your child doesn't get too rambunctious with the bean bags.
I find that the Bean Bag Toss has definitely helped strengthen her hand/eye coordination skills, which are essential for playing sports. I also love how this game puts some of her abundant energy to good use. The only downside I've found to the Bean Bag Toss is in regards to the construction of the board itself.
The colorful board which contains the holes is fairly thin, which wouldn't be a problem if it were securely fastened into the thicker wooden frame which surrounds it. Unfortunately, our board isn't in the frame on one side and so if you begin throwing the bags too hard, the board tries to pop out of the frame and begins to bend. I'm hoping that we just received a board with a slight defect and that the others are better fastened inside their frames.
If you'd like to give your child a wonderful game focusing on active play while building hand/eye coordination, then you should definitely check out the Bean Bag Toss from Educational Insights. This game is perfect for playing both indoors or out and can help relieve that pent up energy children get when cooped up in the house during the cold winter or rainy spring months.
