Of course, because we are always on a budget and watching where our dollars are going, my clothes must be inexpensive too. Recently, I was made aware of an eco-friendly company, called Abbitude, which claims to make clothes from the "world's softest fiber" for an incredibly good price. Eco-friendly, comfortable and affordable? This I had to see!
Micro Modal Long Sleeve Tee, which retails for $18.00
Flirty Skirt, which retails for $26.00
One of the first things that intrigued me about the Abbitude line of women's clothing is how some of their pieces were made from Micro Modal fabric. Now, I was completely unaware of Micro Modal, but anything dubbed the "world's softest fiber" is something I need to learn more about...and fast!
Apparently, Micro Modal is an innovative textile that offers exceptional comfort and durability while also being eco-friendly. Made from the pulp of beech trees, without the pesticides and oils usually found in synthetics, this colorfast material is cool to the touch and offers exceptional moisture absorption. It also has a silky smooth look and feel and superior wearability.
After receiving the Micro Modal Long Sleeve Tee, I can definitely confirm that this fabric is SUPER soft. I loved it! The fit was also amazing. I really liked how long the sleeves were on this shirt, since oftentimes I end up with sleeves that are too short. This shirt couldn't have fit any better and couldn't have been any softer either. The only thing I disliked about the Micro Modal Long Sleeve Tee was that it was WAY too sheer.
You can't notice how see-through this shirt is from the website, but when you hold it up in front of you, it's possible to see through both layers of the shirt. Personally, I don't like garments that are this sheer. As you can see from the picture below, it is very easy to see the sports bra I am wearing underneath. If I have to wear another shirt underneath it, I automatically lose the super soft feeling of the Micro Modal fabric against my skin, which is a major bummer.
Unfortunately, the skirt was exactly the same way. I loved the fit and the flow of this skirt. It was so light and breezy and ridiculously comfortable, but alas, it was also very see-through. The picture below reveals WAY too much, for you can easily see my underwear and even the tattoo I have on my stomach. For my own dignity's sake, I spared everyone the embarrassing shot of me from the rear in this skirt.
If you don't mind the sheerness of these garments from Abbitude, then I highly recommend them. They are some of the softest and best fitting clothes I've ever worn. I also love how they are so inexpensive, yet eco-friendly and made in the USA. Normally, eco-friendly always means higher-priced, but Abbitude clothing is definitely the exception that proves the rule.
Personally, I plan on wearing this outfit as a wonderfully chic and comfortable beach coverup as well as layered with other items I already own. This way, I can still revel in the softness and exceptional fit of Abbitude's garments, without showing everyone my skivvies! :)
Disclosure: I received the Micro Modal Long Sleeve Tee and Flirt Skirt from Abbitude in order to facilitate my review. No other compensation was received. This product review is based on my own personal experiences with this item and is completely honest and objective. |
