Being a parent is never easy, for there are always so many valuable lessons to consistently teach our children.  In order to demonstrate these essential principles, I've found that its best to make sure we are always practicing them daily ourselves.

One such lesson that my husband and I have tried to teach Riley since birth is sharing.  Now, a toddler is not always the best student, since at this age, they are greedy and self-serving by nature.  I have to admit though that I'm very pleased so far with Riley's sharing skills.

She knows that we, as human beings, are not self-sufficient.  There are very few times in our lives when we will have absolutely everything we need and in order for everyone to be happy and fulfilled, we must learn to share freely with each other.  In the end, possessions don't matter.  It's the good that we bring to the world and the smiles we create on the faces of those around us that do.
