With summer heating up, you may find yourself wanting to update your look for the season.  Leave it to Avon to not only offer women a wonderful opportunity to become entrepreneurs, but they also have plenty on the table to make you look smoking hot too!  :cool:

I recently had the chance to review some of their featured items for the season, ranging from makeup to jewelry, to beauty products, accessories and more!  Keep reading to learn more about Avon and how you can add some sizzle to your summer without breaking the bank!

David H. McConnell didn't originally intend to create a beauty company. A traveling book salesman, he founded Avon in 1886 after realizing his female customers were far more interested in the free perfume samples he offered than in his books. During his bookselling days, McConnell had also noticed that many of his female customers were isolated at home while their husbands went off to work. So he purposely recruited female sales Representatives.

McConnell believed they had a natural ability to network with and market to other women, and a passion for his products. At a time of limited employment options for women, the Avon earnings opportunity was a revolutionary concept. It marked the start of the company's long and rich history of empowering women around the globe.

I've long been a believer in any company that helps women to realize their full potential and was thrilled to have the chance to sample some of Avon's top-quality summer products.  What surprised me immediately was the vast array of products they offered...shoes, purses, jewelry?  Okay, I definitely needed to learn more about what was happening at Avon, since I still believed that Avon Representatives only sold beauty products and cosmetics.

What I discovered though when visiting the Avon.com website, was a wide and varied selection of everything under the sun to make a lady look and feel her best.  The Hawaiian Shores collection has a fun, tropical vibe to it with bright colors, floral patterns and scents galore.  I especially liked the exotic fragrance of the Hawaiian Shores eau de toilette spray, and at only $9.99, you can't beat the price either.

Two of my favorite cosmetics from the Avon Hawaiian Shores feature were the Lip Stain Marker and Glazewear Sparkle Lip Gloss.  Most of the time I dread wearing lip gloss because it's so sticky, even though I love the look it brings.  That's what's great about the Glazewear Sparkle variety.  It's not sticky at all, but definitely packs plenty of color and sparkle to get your pout noticed.  The price is unbelievably low at the moment too.

Finally, I was a big fan of the Sterling Silver Nautical Anywhere Ring in Starfish.  I love jewelry inspired by nature and I've always been drawn to starfish.  What's great about this ring is that it is so versatile.  It can be worn on any finger (or toe for that matter) and because it is completely adjustable, it can even be worn higher up on the fingers, between the first and second joints, for an ultra chic seaside look.

The Enchanting Sea Bracelet was also a fun and funky nod to the classic seashell.  This large bracelet had plenty to catch the eye with a myriad of soft pastel colors intertwined with both gold and silver colored metals...definitely a summer must-have!

Avon definitely surprised me with their amazing selection of quality items at unbelievable prices.  I highly recommend shopping their assortment of summer wares which will kick start your beauty routine and amp up your fashion level.  Make sure to find out who your local Avon Representative is so that they can keep you in the loop and looking great all year long!
