I like to think of myself as a practical gal by nature.  From as far back as I can remember, I've strived to conserve whatever resources I had available.  Be it birthday money, toys or craft supplies, I was careful to make the most of what I had.  Today, our family budget is always under my watchful eye.  Thanks to Safeway and the ExxonMobil Fuel Rewards program, it's never been easier to safe a LOT of money on both groceries and gas.

Halloween is a wonderful holiday full of ghouls, goblins and everything that goes bump in the night.  Being scared is a lot of fun, which is why Halloween is one of my favorite holidays...even as an adult.  Of course, getting terrific goodies at every turn doesn't hurt either, and The Hershey's Company has always supplied plenty of scrumptious ways to help us celebrate!  :pumpkin:

If there's one thing I take super seriously, it's the quality of my sleep.  As a working mom, the quantity of sleep I receive always seems to be in short supply.  At times, there's not much I can do about that, but I CAN control the quality of the sleep I receive each night.  When you're battling through a tough day on just a few hours of rest, it's essential that you've maximized how well you slept the night before.

Although I have a top quality mattress that I love sleeping on, the one thing I never seem to be happy with is the temperature at which I sleep.  My husband and I can control the ROOM's temperature easily enough with our home thermostat, but it's next to impossible to control the temperature between me and the mattress each night...or is it?  :question:

As parents, we've all had it...that gut-wrenching feeling in the pit of our stomachs when our child wakes up in the middle of the night and screams out your name.  About six months ago, my daughter Riley had went to bed a little under the weather and woke up with a scorching fever of 105 degrees.  Of course our immediate reaction was to rush her to the emergency room where we waited for hours to see a doctor.

In the end, the doctor only gave my daughter ibuprofen and told us to alternate between it and acetaminophen until she could see her regular physician.  Needless to say, we all lost a lot of sleep that night and didn't feel much better for the wear and tear.  If only there had been an easier way to get an expert's opinion...
