IamsMy dog, Noel, is one of the best things that's ever happened to me in my life.  She's been my constant and faithful companion for almost 13 years now and I couldn't value our time together more.  I've been lucky so far in that Noel is the picture of health.  She's never had any injuries and is rarely sick.

Besides the annual trip to the vet for her immunizations and dental cleanings, she rarely shows up at her office at all.  In my opinion, proper nutrition for a dog is essential and should be followed from the moment your pup is weaned from its mother.  After all, the food you feed to your pet is an investment in the health and happiness of your entire family.

Bullying

Source: The Anti-Bully Blog :credits-caption:

You've heard the horror stories of children being bullied in school, in cyberspace, on the playground. Sometimes bullying can even lead to suicide as shown in the documentary film “Bully,” which was released earlier this year.  The stats are alarming: nearly one-third of all school-aged children are bullied each year - upwards of 13 million students, according to PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center. October 2012 marked the seventh anniversary of the center’s National Bullying Prevention Month.

Children are bullied and experience a lack of self-esteem and confidence while at home, and some are even scared to attend school for fear of encountering a bully.  But parents should not feel helpless. There are things they can do to help their kids stand up to bullying.

PicturesOnGold.com Since Valentine's Day is right around the corner, you may already be wondering what to give that someone special.  In my opinion, personalized jewelry tops the list for wonderful and sentimental gift giving ideas.  It's a timeless treasure that will forever remind that certain someone of just how much you care.  Call me old-fashioned, but I still believe lockets to be the epitome of classic personalized jewelry.

Thankfully, PicturesOnGold.com has a myriad of lockets available and ready for customization.  They even take the time to send you a locket which already has your most precious photos tucked neatly inside...using color laser engraving!  I had the chance to customize a Sterling Silver Heart Locket just right for Valentine's Day, and if you're the lucky winner of this giveaway, you will too.  Keep reading to learn more!

Salon Beauty Tips

"New Year, New You" campaigns are running wild this month and you may feel inspired to finally update your beauty routine or get that trendy haircut you've coveted for months. Whatever your New Year's goals may be, I can offer the following insider tips to get the most bang for your buck on those salon beauty treatments!

When Getting Your Hair Colored

It's best to have your hair brushed before arriving for your hair appointment. This saves your stylist from having to detangle your locks and allows him or her to get started on your color right away. Additionally, there's no need to wash or style your hair; it will be washed and styled after the color treatment. For more pre- and post-salon hair-coloring tips, read this article from TheHairStyler.

OtterBoxI am such a book fanatic and love reading one any time I get the chance.  Several years ago, it wasn't uncommon to spot me out and about with a huge novel half sticking out of my purse, but since then, I've converted to the eReader way of life via the Amazon Kindle 3.

It's just so much more convenient to have all of your reading material instantly available at your fingertips.  Everything from my favorite newspapers, books, magazines and even blogs are all contained inside the thin frame of my Kindle.  Unfortunately, I haven't taken my Kindle with me as often as I'd liked to simply because I'm scared that I will damage it in some way.

While my thick novel could take a beating, my Kindle most certainly cannot.

That's why I was happy to discover the Kindle 3 Commuter Series Case from OtterBox.  Keep reading to learn more as I took this protective case out for a spin around the block:

I reviewed the Kindle 3 Commuter Series Case in Black from OtterBox which retails for $49.95.
